FOUNDER’S STORY

Our story

Scope Scholars began with a simple observation. When I was a student, if I did not fully understand the content, it was often difficult to know where to start or what questions to ask a tutor. After five years of tutoring students across Brisbane, both within organisations and independently, I began to see this reflected repeatedly. Many students arrived at sessions without homework, without questions and often without a clear starting point. While sessions focused on content, they rarely built the confidence, structure or study skills needed to succeed independently. With a background in psychology and a genuine passion for education, it became clear something was missing in how we support young people.

Scope Scholars was created to bridge that gap. It is the program I wish I had as a student, supporting young people as they transition into high school, strengthening their foundations in numeracy and literacy while developing the study skills needed for long term success. Through mentoring, collaboration and engaging learning experiences, we help students build confidence, develop independence and better understand their strengths.

More than a program, Scope Scholars is a community. We work closely with families and schools to ensure each student feels supported, understood and guided throughout their journey. Since launching, we have partnered with schools across Brisbane and supported over 2500 students and families, with many improving from C to B grades within a term alongside a meaningful increase in confidence.
